Dominic Miller. With Third World, Dominic Miller presents his third album in the line of releases featuring his own music: a production of soft tones, in pleasant contrast to the ubiquitous racket of our time and age. Terms like "grace," "amenity" and "sensuousness" come to mind while listening to the gentle play of this guitar virtuoso. |

Ian
Melrose. "Bow down--a guitar
god is in the house, or at least in the stereo. In a breathtaking 52
minutes, Ian Melrose graces us with 21 Scottish fiddle tunes played on the
acoustic and slide guitars. When it's all over, we're agog at his
virtuosity, but also blessed for the beauty he's brought us...a marvelous
CD filled with spectacular guitar work." - Rambles |

Norland Wind.
The magic of the
Celtic harp is central to the sound of
Norland Wind.
The landscape and music of Donegal, the Celtic northwest of Ireland,
provides the inspiration for many compositions of the trio featuring
harpist Thomas Loefke. Haunting harp instrumentals written by Loefke or by
Clannad lead guitarist Ian Melrose alternate with Gaelic and Anglo-Irish
songs mostly composed by singer/guitarist Kerstin Blodig. Thomas's lyrical
harp, the clarity of Kerstin's expressive voice, Ian's sensitive guitar
work, along with vocal harmony and compact arrangements, blend to create a
uniquely evocative and emotionally powerful sound: Celtic acoustic music
which successfully merges the traditional and the modern. |
