Toronto goalie Frederik Andersen made history in their 2-0 win over Washington on Tuesday night, becoming the first Maple Leafs goalie in franchise history to post a shutout at the Capitals, dating back to 1974. He made 30 saves, but the team in front of him was the story here. The Leafs dominated for stretches, showing better speed than the Capitals and getting a workmanlike Connor Brown goal in the third to break a scoreless tie. Washington, meanwhile, was disturbingly passive offensively, generating fewer even-strength shot attempts (56) than the Leafs (57) despite seeking a bounce-back from that 8-2 drubbing from the Flyers on Saturday. That's a solid road win for the Leafs against the team that eliminated them from the playoffs last April.
